W. Ridgway Platter - 1840'sW. Ridgway
William Ridgway & Co. transferware platter in the Tyrolean romantic pattern. Made at the Bellworks in Shelton & Church - Staffordshire, England, circa 1834 - 1854. This is such a charming platter that has a wonderful antique look. If you're the type of person who wants their antiques to look like antiques, then this platter is for you! It displays beautifully, especially on the top. Looking at the bottom reveals its age a bit more. It's a lovely platter to display on a wall along with other antique blue & whites.
- Measures about 12.75" x 10.25".
- Made of ironstone.
- Made in Staffordshire, England.
- Part of our Estate Collection and in good vintage condition, but it does show its age. There are a few crack lines, evidently from age and not from damage. None of the crack lines run from edge to edge (please see photos). There is crazing and some staining along the crack a crazing lines. But we couldn't find any chips or repairs. Overall, a great piece to display.
