Three Asian Metal BottlesBoxwoodLane.com
Set of three antique graduating-size metal bottles with an Indian or Hindu theme hand-painted on each. Each bottle has a man depicted on one side and a woman on the other. They have some age to them, so some of the paint has chipped off, which gives them a great antique and somewhat primitive appearance. We estimate production circa early 1900s. They're somewhat small in size, so make excellent accent pieces, especially when grouped together. They each have a metal lid. Two of the lids are stuck on and we didn't try and force them off the bottles. The lid on the largest bottle can be removed. We looked inside he bottle and saw that the interior appears to be rusted. We're not sure what these may have been used for initially... maybe as perfume bottles?.. or snuff bottles? In any case, they certainly are interesting and unique pieces.
- Each bottle appears to be made of metal, possibly iron.
- The bottles measure about 4.5" tall, 3.5" tall, and 2.25" tall.
- Part of our Estate Collection and in good vintage condition, however the paint on each bottle has been partially chipped or worn of from age (please examine photos). The lids on each have some rust, as does the interior of the largest bottle (assumption is that the other two are also rusted inside, but we could not take off the lids to verify). They each have a great rustic, primitive look about them and display wonderfully.
