Telescopic Candlestick - 1800'sBoxwoodLane.com
Sheffield plate telescopic candlestick - circa 1820 - 1849. We couldn't find any hallmarks on this piece other than an "E" on the inside of the candle holder - possibly a Glasgow age hallmark for 1823? Normally a portion of this candlestick could be raised or lowered, however it no longer stays in a raised position and seems to have a loose fit in the base. But it's still a beautiful piece with wonderful detail.
- Measures about 9" tall in the lowered position.
- Part of our Estate Collection and in very good vintage condition. As stated earlier, it no longer stays in a raised position so can only be used in its lowered position. The silverplate is in very good condition with only minor loss (please see photo), especially on the base. There's one small dent on the column (please see photo), but otherwise, in very nice condition. Note that the price on this piece has been lowered due to the imperfections.
