Item ID: Mosheim's Church History - 1833
Mosheim's Church History - 1833 - An Ecclesiastical History, Ancient and Modern: Description in book: From the birth of Christ to the beginning of the 18th century in which the rise, progress, and variations of church power, are considered in their connection with the state of learning and philosophy, and the political history of Europe during that period.
Published in Baltimore in 1833 by John J. Harrod. Stereotyped by James Conner of New York.
Binding appears to be leather over board with gilt borders. The spine has embossed bands and includes gilt in a beautiful Victorian design. Page edges are also gilt. This book was originally published in multiple volumes, however, this publication combined these volumes together into one, consisting of 806 pages (including index).
The front inside-cover has names of previous owners written in pencil. One of these is George Ficklen, who lived in the area of Culpeper County, Virginia (1792-1852?). It appears as though he gave this book to his daughter, Lucy Ficklen.
- Measures about 11.5" x 9.25".
- Part of our Estate Collection and in very good condition for its age. Binding is intact and cover has only minor wear.
