Brass Betty LampRhyne & Sons
Item ID: X1173
Brass Betty lamp - a reproduction piece of the type of oil lamps used in the 18th and 19th centuries. While you'd probably never see these in homes of the wealthy, they were used extensively in the homes of the common folk. They would use fish oil, or if they could afford it, whale oil, and a rag or wick. It would shine a little light in a very dark room. This would make a great gift for anyone who appreciates antiques or for history buffs. Comes with the handle that was used to hang the lamp on a peg or nail.
- Size is about 4.5" in diameter.
- Made of brass.
- Made in Taiwan.
- New and in excellent condition. Note however that this has an antique look so the brass has a worn and used appearance. It also has the look of being hand made, because of this each piece has variations and may not look exactly like the item pictured.
