Pedestal Bride's Basket - 1870Reed & Barton
Unusual antique oval pedestal bride's basket with figural ornaments - dated 1870 (stamped on one of the feet), from the Victorian Aesthetic Era. Made by Reed Barton. Excellent display piece, or even as a pastry tray for the elegant tea party!
- Measures about 11" wide.
- The rim of the bowl is at about 6.75" high.
Part of our Estate Collection and in good vintage condition, but it does have some loss to the silverplate, as well as a few minor dents (please see photos). We also noticed that it looks like the animal head on the handle may have had antlers or horns at one time, and if so, they have broken off. Even with these imperfections, this is still a beautiful and unusual display piece.
